The Aquinian Times, the official Week 5 School Bulletin

Welcome to The Aquinian Times, the official Week 5 School Bulletin for St. Thomas Aquinas Secondary School – Kawempe, running from June 22nd to June 28th, 2026. Under this week’s empowering theme, “Leadership, Growth & Excellence,” our campus celebrated massive milestones. On Wednesday, 24th June, a new chapter of leadership officially began with the Swearing-In of Prefects, where our newly appointed student leaders took their solemn oaths of office, pledging to serve with integrity, discipline, and commitment. This memorable day concluded with a vibrant Leadership Handover Party, providing a moment of deep gratitude, celebration, and unity as our outgoing leaders gracefully handed over the mantle to the incoming team.

In this edition’s Prefect’s Corner, our Head Girl shares an inspiring message, thanking fellow Aquinians for their trust and reminding everyone that leadership is about serving others with humility, integrity, and commitment rather than standing above them. She challenges the student body to maintain a daily culture where discipline, respect, and academic excellence thrive. Beyond the classroom, our active Business Department went on an educational business trip on Friday, 26th June, gaining practical exposure and real-world experience. We also come together to celebrate a very happy birthday to Mr. Hamba on 26th June, sending him prayers for good health, wisdom, and many more joyful years ahead.

To nurture both mind and body, our weekly features offer spiritual guidance and essential lifestyle tips. Our Bible Verse of the Week comes from Colossians 3:23 (NIV), urging us to work at everything with all our hearts, as working for the Lord rather than human masters, complemented by a powerful Quote of the Week: “Small disciplines repeated every day lead to great achievements tomorrow.” Meanwhile, our Science Spotlight focuses on health, detailing the hidden dangers of eating instant noodles too frequently due to high sodium and unhealthy fats. We encourage all Aquinians to prioritize healthy eating today to build a healthier tomorrow!
